Released on September 23 2008, Android - A mobile operating system based on Linux kernel has become the most popular operating system on the world (With over 2 billion users worldwide)Android is not only in your smartphone, it's also in Smartwatch, Smart TV, TV box... you named it!
Because of the popularity of Android, there are a huge number of security vulnerabilities and Android became a big gold mine to exploit by Hackers.
Malware, Viruses, Ransomware, Trojans, AdWare and fake apps, are all used by hackers to take control of people's devices or steal your logins, credentials, passwords, credit card details, contact addresses, SMS messages, emails, calendar information, and other sensitive details...
It's not just hackers, governments, your ISP and big companies also snoop on people's data and many service providers perform low-level surveillance.

Keep your Android devices privacy and safe with a good VPN service
A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network. A VPN is created by establishing a virtual point-to-point connection through the use of dedicated circuits or with tunneling protocols over existing networks.
 - From Wikipedia -

Yes, a good VPN! A VPN can keep your Android devices secure and privacy, by doing three things:
    * A VPN will encrypt all your data, giving you watertight digital privacy that stops ISPs from being able to perform mandatory data retention on behalf of the government.
   * A VPN will hide your real IP address so that the websites you visit cannot track it. Hiding your IP also protects your location from hackers and other malicious forces online.
   * A VPN will protect you from hacking when connected to public WiFi hotspots. The encryption provided by a VPN means hackers can't steal your data via public WiFi.

But not all the VPN apps are good! Some VPN services are collecting the information of their users. Or they are not secure, or leaking (IP, DNS & WebRTC Leaks), or useless and don't have the ability to protect users. Especially free VPN services like Betternet.

You can read these post to find more:

    * 8 Bad VPNs You Must Avoid to Protect Your Privacy.
    * 74 VPNs Tested for IP, DNS & WebRTC Leaks (15 Leaking).

But not all the free VPNs ar bad. There are some very good and reliable free VPN services like Windscribe. Actually, Windscribe is one of the best VPN services in the category Free Audit, Value Audit and Overall Audit in BestVPN.com Awards 2019 (Read White Paper here). You totally can believe in Windscribe (100% no logs).

Keep your Android devices secure and safe with a good Anti-Virus
Yes, a good Anti-Virus! A really good Anti-Virus software will keep your Android devices secure and safe from Malware, Viruses, Ransomware, Trojans, AdWare and other online threats. But there are hundreds of security apps for Android, but most of them aren't good or useless. A bad or fake Anti-Virus also collecting your infomation for advertising and other purposes.
According a research of AV-Comparatives - Android Test 2019 – 250 Apps, the Anti-Virus apps from 138 vendors detected less than 30% of the Android malware samples, or had a relatively high false alarm rate on popular clean files from the Google Play Store like BKAV, Bom Bom, Booster studio Laboratory Inc... (Read more here).

Keep your Android device up-to-date
Updates your Android, Keep your Android up-to-date

Android developers are constantly searching for new vulnerabilities and bugs, when they are discovered they are patched in a new version of Android. Always update the operating system when an update is made available.

You can check and update your Android devices by tap on Settings → System Updates (or Software Updates) → Check for updates → Install Updates.

Keep your Android apps up-to-date
Android app developers are constantly finding and fixing vulnerabilities and bug. Keep up-to-date your apps with any updates that are made available.   All the applications you install from Google Play Store will automatically update via Google Play Store.

Turn off permissions for apps from unknown sources
If you do turn this on at any point, be sure to turn it back off again for maximum security.

Only use official App stores
If you want to install an app via APK file, ensure you only download and install apps from well-known services like Android Drawer or APKForge. Check an app's reviews before installing.
If you don't, I recommended you to use Google Play Store.

Check permissions before installing apps: If apps have extremely invasive permissions - that aren't relevant to its functionality - then you probably shouldn't install them. Apps that ask access to IMEI/IMSI and MAC numbers, device details, contact lists, SMS messages, etc, are performing covert surveillance on your device. Stay away.

Password protect and encrypt your device: If your Android device is lost or stolen and you haven't properly protected it you could end up having a lot of sensitive data stolen. You should always use a strong password and, if available full disk encryption.

Watch out for phishing emails and phishing text messages: These techniques trick Android users into clicking on a link that then delivers malware onto their device. So be careful with everything you see.

De-Google from your Android devices
Slightly more technical, it is worth knowing that it is possible to root an Android device in order to uninstall OEM bloatware and Google's Service Framework apps (both known to perform low-level surveillance).

Surf Internet cleverly: Be careful about the websites you visit and what links you click on. You can also use this tool from TrendMicro to to check if the site is malicious or not.

Use DuckDuckGo and Mozilla Firefox to take back your privacy right
Protect your privacy with DuckDuckGo
Why should you use DuckDuckGo? Well, unlike our Big brother - Google:
    * DuckDuckGo doesn't collect or share any of your personal information.
    * DuckDuckGo never store your personal info
    * DuckDuckGo never follow you around with ads and never track you.

Now, you can install DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser from Google Play Store and enjoy your privacy right!

And Mozilla Firefox, it's the great browser about protect privacy right.
Better web browsing with Firefox
Why should you use Mozilla Firefox?
Unlike Chrome, Firefox actually cares about your privacy. Firefox has many features to protect your privacy: Tracking Protection, Block Third-party Cookie, Privacy Browsing,...
Also, Firefox is 44% faster than Google Chrome and uses less memory than Chrome 30%.
When use Firefox, you can rest assured that your browsing data will not be sold for some purposes like advertising.
